I can imagine that anyone reading this post will have learned of my frequent mood swings. Heck, I’m the Queen of the Swing! But today, I am going to stop the swing in the middle and celebrate both life and death. For today, I became an aunt.

Just seven months ago, my little brother went to bed and never woke up again. I have had a piece of me missing since then, and that has been a very tough thing to deal with. Especially being so far away from my family. There is one thing I am sure of, wherever he is right now, he knows we miss and love him. I also know that he is smiling down on our family because our sister had a baby girl today.

Her name is Evanna Jaleigh. Yes, she is named after him. She is the most adorable thing in the world. Yeah, I know. everyone says that about their child or niece or nephew, but I can’t help it! She’s just freaking amazing! She came into the world today, July 6, 2010 at 6:36 pm.

I can’t wait to hold her and tell her all about her uncle and the world. Between the aunts, uncles and my Grandmother all of which have passed away, Evanna has more guardian angels than anyone in the world. I know she will be well watched over and taken care of. And definitely spoiled beyond belief.
